I’ve finished MIke’s Phoenix ring – a big, badass companion to his lady’s smaller, more elegant design. Big? Yeah. Mike told me I should make this ring like I was making it for myself. You asked for it.
It’s two birds facing each other set against a super-thick comfort-fit shank with a Japanese cloud pattern behind it.
It’s one of the larger bands I’ve made. Definitely wide enough to know you’re wearing it, but it’s comfortable and won’t wear out the finger. Might take some getting used to, though. In my opinion, every great ring does.
Speaking of great rings, i’ve had a number of projects stacking up on my bench. Things are crazy.
I’ve finished up a number of new waxes and I need some client eyes on ’em, so here goes nothing.
This one is going to rock a sterling or gold cigar. A classic Big Voodoo with a brand new bottom jaw and the eyes cleaned out for gemstones.
Client wanted a real detailed cigar too, so I’ve even sculpted wrapper leaf and a ring label on it.
These two shots are of a Little Voodoo job with a Swiss cross on the forehead. Also prepping for some red gemstones.
Finally, I’m working on another Masonic skull vaguely similar to a past project. Lots of dimensional carving on this one:
More to come too. I’m hoping to have the Warpig line finished in another week or two. Stay tuned.
