Mohawk Rules

I finished the Mohawk ring yesterday and it’s on its way to Jason.

I think Jason will be quite happy.  It’s a big one – size 13.   Missing teeth came out wonderfully.  Jason, you definitely owe me some snapshots of this bad boy playing your guitar.

I’ve been in LA for a few days working.  I made a trip to In and Out burger, which in many ways is one of the greatest things to ever come out of the west coast.

There’s a joint in Atlanta called “Grindhouse” and it’s easily as good, but there are only 2 of them and they’re hard to get to.
I had to post a picture of me doing this step and repeat thing.  I do these a lot and I’ve NEVER had a picture taken during one that doesn’t make me look like I’m verbally assaulting the press.  Does that guy look friendly?
I don’t know what it is.  Maybe it’s the harsh lighting.
Doesn’t matter – I soothed myself with korean tacos.

Jillian’s Wax is getting sugary.

Just spent a big marathon session working the wax for Jillian’s sugar skull.  I haven’t rounded out the eyes yet, but I’ve finished the rose and sugar floral work on either side of the head, the script on the shank, as well as the feature piece at the top of the forehead.    The eyes and the treatment on the lower forehead and jaw are next.

It’s hard to take good shots of wax like this.  But I’ve done my best.

This kind of project is a lot of fun to work on.  We’re closing in on a completion date for this fellow.  I have to say, this is one of my favorite sugar skulls thus far.
