Animation Prototype

Yeah, that’s an animation light table.

I’ve done three class rings, and this one is for a graduating class of animators who approached me with this project some time ago.  I wanted to make a class ring that was extremely personal. Something that was unique to each wearer and not the standard shitty Belfour class ring that every graduate on the planet wears.

This one’s just the prototype.  I have a ton of these to make and each ring will have the student’s graduation year on the back of the shank and their initials on that ^^^ shield there.

That Game Design ring I’d made a few years ago was a badass class ring, but this one might be cooler . For those of you who dont’ know, animators use that light table and peg bar system for classical 2d animation.  It’s still the core of modern animation as well.  So this design is really the perfect choice.

This one’s the prototype.  I’ll be knocking out about 20 in this first batch.  Each comes with that square pearl shell stone which is supposed to be the plexiglass surface you’d see on tables like that.

On another note, I’m getting closer to that website rebrand.  A few new products coming and a new ‘look’ for the Voodoo line.  Stay tuned.

  1. I remember signing an interest list on facebook, but never found out what became of it. The prototype looks amazing!! How do students go about ordering one? Thanks for working on this.

  2. Any animation graduate can get one because I’m hand-lettering the graduation year and initials after the base waxes are done. I’m only charging cost, so they’re cheap. $170 for solid sterling. I just need a ring size and an email address where I can send a PayPal invoice.

  3. This looks amazing. Does it only fit a man’s hand or could a woman wear one, as well? 😀 I graduated with an MFA and never had a chance to buy a class ring. I’d definitely consider buying this one.
